Job Summary:

The Museum Program Services Manager will be responsible for planning, directing and evaluating operational, financial and personnel activities. This person will also organize, manage, and direct the Museum’s educational programs including the conceptual design, interpretive methodology, content, delivery, publications, and informational materials.
In this role this individual will also:

  • Provide administrative leadership and supervision.
  • Develop, implement and monitor assigned budgets.
  • Implement and administer department operating policies and procedures.

This dynamic individual will also assist the Director with the development and planning for the continued enhancement of the museum, including the development and implementation of Museum goals and objectives; preparation of materials for reports, and assisting in outreach activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate education, training, experience, and talents are required. An example of this would be a bachelor degree in History, American Studies or a related field, and four years of related work experience, including one year of supervisory experience.

Candidates must also possess:

  • Knowledge of acceptable museum standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of budgeting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of acceptable supervisory practices.
  • Knowledge of institutional policies and procedures.
  • Skill in planning and coordinating a major function within a comprehensive museum facility.
  • Skill in planning and directing the work of others.
  • Skill in researching and analyzing data and reports.
  • Skill in making oral and written presentations.

Work Hours: Working hours are Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00pm. This position will also require availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
